The increasing number of Covid-19 positive patients in Makassar needs to be balanced with the increase of Covid-19 Referral Hospitals. South Sulawesi Governor Nurdin Abdullah has established 46 Covid-19 Referral Hospitals which have been decided in Decree No. 955/11/2020 and Siloam Makassar is one of them.
As a support from Lippo Group for the Local Government against Covid-19 and accelerating the handling of covid-19 positive patients, Siloam Hospitals Makassar will soon operate an Emergency Hospital. Siloam collaborated with GMTD to realize the Emergency Hospital.
In early April, GMTD handed over its marketing office (Marketing Gallery) to Siloam Hospital to be converted into a patient care room. GMTD also helped the construction for Emergency Hospital with a capacity of 78 beds. Director of Siloam Hospital Dr. Herry Bertus said, “The Emergency Hospital is separated from the main building of Siloam Hospital thus it will be more safe to be used for patient Covid-19”, he said.
GMTD Associate Director Andi Eka Firman Ermawan added, “The appointment of Siloam Hospital needs to be fully supported by all parties. This is our responsibility “, he said.
“GMTD as the executor of the construction of the emergency hospital is targeting will be functioned gradually starting on Monday, April 20, 2020. But overall it must be completed within the next week”, Eka added.
