He launched his career as Chairman the Professional Medical Education Accreditation Instrument Development Team in 2009 and has since held key positions as a member and head of various national and international health organizations, among others as a Technical Team, as well as the World Bank 2009 Health Professional Education Quality (HPEQ) Accreditation Coordinator, Chairman of the Indonesian Medical College (2009–2012), Member of the National Research Council (2008–2012), Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (2006–2014) and Chairman of the NECHRI Steering Committee (Novartis Eijkman Hasanuddin Clinical Research Initiative), Ethical Board Member of the Mochtar
Ryadi Institute for Nanotechnology (MRIN) and Deputy Head of the Permanent Commission of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce for Education, Health and Labor (2010–2014). He was once elected role model lecturer at the faculty of medicine and role model lecturer III at the Hasanuddin University in 1993. Since he launched his career as a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of Hasanuddin University, he has been very active in research and has won numerous awards, including the Lecturer of the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (1993), Role Model Lecturer III of Hasanuddin University (1993), Chairman of the National Achievement Study Program (2009), 20-year Satya Lencana Karya Satya from the Government of Indonesia (2010), Juned Pusponegoro from the Indonesian Doctors Association as a member who has published many international research (2012 ), and the Achmad Bakrie Award for medicine (2013).
