Appointed as Commissioner based on the decision of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held on March 21, 2017 until the closing of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to be held in 2020.

Currently a member of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2019–2024 period.

He has been an active lecturer at several universities, including the St. Thomas Catholic University in Medan (1992–1993) and the Atmajaya Catholic University in Jakarta (1993–1999). He was also a Visiting Fellow at Griffith University, Queensland, Australia (1997), Legal Consultant at PT Datakom Asia Co., Jakarta (1998–2001), Media Law Ombudsperson at Internews Indonesia (1999–2002), Director of Indonesia Media Law & Policy Center (2000–2006). He established LQQ Media Law Offices (2003), Indonesia Lex Sportiva Instituta (2005), PH&H Lobby Firm (2007). As a reputable figure with extensive experience in law, the press and sports, he often writes articles for national news outlets, national and international journals and many books related the areas. His professional experience is extensive covering press and was once an active caretaker of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). His professional experience extends overseas where he often engages in international discussions in legal, media law and sports.

He holds a Law degree which he earned from the Protestant Batak Christian Huria Christian University (HKBP) Nommensen, Medan, North Sumatra (1987), a Master Degree in Law from Padjadjaran University, Bandung (1992) and a Doctorate Degree in Law from Pelita Harapan University, Jakarta (2011).
